Craig MacTavish (coach of the Edmonton Oilers) trying to explain his team’s 4-0 loss to the mighty Calgary Flames: “We made too many mistakes and they capitalized. They were more capitalistic.”

That just might be the most insightful thing I’ve ever heard in a sports interview. Who could have thought that one could sum up the cultural and economics differences between Calgary and Edmonton so succinctly? Only Gene Makowsky could have said it better
